York & The Shirelles 1997
This was at a concert at the Grand Casino, Hinckley, MN amphitheatre opening for Chuck Berry. I played with both acts after getting permission from Chuck, who usually does not allow his musicians to play with other acts on the same bill. Lisa played with the Shirelles.
We did many dates with them from 1991 until leader Doris Coley-Kenner's death . They were always a lot of fun. I have a fond memory of rehearsing with them in a hotel room with their hair in curlers and singing Gospel songs that had nothing to do with their show.
