Bo Diddley
This
is at the Cabooze in Minneapolis in 1987.I've assembled pickup bands and backed
Bo about once a year. The last time was in St Paul November 2002. He's been one
of my favourites since I was 14, so it's always a thrill to work with him. His
regular band leader is New York bassist Debby Hastings. When musicians ask me
what to expect on a Bo gig I tell them "He just stares at you until you read his
mind". I told Debbie this and she e-mailed back "yeah, and he's got really thick
